Quite interesting that it is scientists who give us always a better understanding of life and all its related processes. Yet the very scientists who discover new things to reaffirm their strong convictions about an evolutionary process, are denigrated by nincompoops who make zero contributions to the advancement of knowledge but are prompt to claim arrogantly to know better, and use as evidence a paragraph written on an ancient book, quite representative of the mythology of its time, and consequently of very questionable authorship. The irony always amazes me... and frustrates me...and scares me.

Who Made The Code?
by Perry ina few weeks ago, discoveries were made that show that there is another dna code language that rides on top of the already incredibly complex 4-letter code previously discovered.
this newly discovered code apparently regulates how genes work.
as i noted in a previous thread, the amount of data storage available in the dna storage system just the size of a pin-head would filll a stack of books stacked from your driveway to the moon .... 500 times!

the first table shows the new zealand census from 1976 to 2013. typically, numbers of citizens affiliated with the witnesses are higher than the number of active publishers because it includes children and those who are affiliated with the witnesses but who may not be active publishers.. of note, more citizens were recorded as affiliated with the witnesses in 1996 (19,527) than in 2013 (17,931).
the decline in numbers affiliating with the witnesses in new zealand started in 2001 and has continued across two further census reports - so this is not just a temporary blip.

mostly if all the weird anxiety i experience from time to time is related to it.

Lived in the east part of the San Fernando Valley and attending with my wife a Hispanic congregation in the same area, I can relate to Dodger Stadium, Long Beach, Norco (brings bad memories because I stupidly gave permission to my 16 y.o. daughter to get baptised in the CC of 2012, stupid honor kept mefrom backtracking even though I had already good knowledge of the cult at the time she dipped into the baptismal waters) As my name indicates, I have never been a JW, but I know as much or more than JW's about their doctrines and history. In fact, it is their wierd undefensible theology that has thrown me into the most interesting research of my life: Archaeology, a bit of languages, ancient history, evolution and genetics, bible scholarship, psychology, history of early christianity, etc. I owe a big debt to many great posters here for that research.

I think the prophecy perfectly applies to the governing body. Not to long ago there were only seven members in the GB, recently became 8. Certainly 8 is abundance, like flies on my food. I think 0 is the right amount.

So humans owe morality to the Bible?
Where does the Bible come from? From all the reading I have done regarding bible authorship, biblical scholarship, history of early chrsitianity, copying of the bible, translation of the bible, the existence of hundreds, even thousands of Christian denominations, I have to conclude that we owe the Bible to humans, superstitious humans at best, or controlling, manipulative and dishonest humans at worst.
Since Bible gives morality to humans, and the Bible comes from humans. I guess humans are ultimately responsible for an ever changing and improving morality code. I wonder how many good christians here would trade the treatment they get from, let's say, the Constitution of the United States, for the treatment they would get under Mosaic Law. Imagine being an adulterous woman...actually just imagine being a woman in the times of Moses, or the times of the apostle Paul. What do you prefer, the morality code of the Constitution in the 21st century, or the morality code from 2,000 to 3,000 years ago as prescribed by the "word of God" in the Bible?

Great video! One problem though, the name. Most JW's won't touch it because they assume that it was made by those "evil apostates". If you are in control of the name, search for a better one that doesn't make JW's avoid it.

In page 19 of the book "Millions Now Living Will Never Die" you will find the following:
"Again Jesns said that the war, famine and pestilence would be followed by earthquakes It was not unusual for Jesus to use symbolic language; in fact, he often used symbolic language or dark sayings to conceal the real meaning until the due time should come. In Biblical symbology earthquake means revolution. Following the war have come famine, pestilence and revolutions in many countries-some bloody and some bloodless. Russia has experienced her revolution and there the Babylonish systems have fallen".
I guess there were not too many earthquakes around the time the book was written so the prophecy had to be fulfilled no matter what. Nothing has changed in Watchtowerland during the last 90 years.

then moved to long beach, 45 minute drive.
now in 2014 they are moving to san diego, 2 1/2 hr drive.

My brother, a JW, just told me that their D.A.'s are going to San Diego now. He belongs to a Spanish circuit in the east part of the San Fernando Valley. I don't know where they are holding the assembly though. They were held for many years in Long Beach. I heard a story that the WT had traded consrruction labor for many years of use of the Sports Arena in Long Beach. I suppose, the benefits from that trade ran out. My wife is a JW. She will have to hear what I think about her spending even more money in gasoline, lodging and donation for a group of people who have lied to her, who are perfectly willing to let her die in a hospital, and would abandon her (shun) at the first attempt to disagree or complain.

20 years ago the DA's were in Dodger Stadium, 10-15 minute drive from home (east part of San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles area). Then moved to Long Beach, 45 minute drive. Now in 2014 they are moving to San Diego, 2 1/2 hr drive. The distances to D.A.'s are getting longer.
Same thing is happening to C.A.'s. The Watchtower owned a C.A. hall sitting in a very expensive piece of land that was close to home. They sold it many years ago (I am sure for many millions). Going to that hall was just 1/2 hour drive for my family. After the sale of that hall, my family has had to drive to the Norco circuit assembly hall, which is sitting on a cheap piece of land that may have cost less than a million, but it's 1 hr and 15 minute drive for my family.
Oh well, my consolation is that my nephew has to drive from Los Angeles to San Francisco to attend his D.A. in portuguese. That is a six hour drive.
The extra cost of gasoline and lodging in some cases far outweighs the savings of the WTS. Not to mention the huge increase in pollution resulting from the extra driving. I guess the WTS is just as responsible, if not more, for ruining the earth.
Is the WT running out of money, or they are finding new ways to keep more at the expense of the rank and file and the planet.
